Jack Rupert Hemsley (BF 56)

Jack Hemsley died on Saturday 29th November at home after a long illness.  His wife and two daughters, Jasmine and Melissa, were caring for him till the end.

Cremation took place on Monday 8th December and there will be a funeral service in Surrey on Sunday 14th December 12.15pm-1.15pm.  Jack’s daughter Melissa (melissa@hemsleyandhemsley.com) wrote:

“We have a beautiful service planned with a bugler coming from Dad's old regiment and an organist and quartet from the Surrey Cantata. Dad's ashes will be buried at Clandon Wood Natural Burial Reserve (a wildflower field and orchard near where Dad was born)”. www.clandonwood.com

Haileybury Almaty/Haileybury Astana, Kazakhstan

Jack was instrumental in setting up the Registry Department in Kazakhstan for both Haileybury Almaty (2008) and Haileybury Astana (2011).

Alister Bartholomew, Chair of Governors of the schools in Kazakhstan wrote:

“He made a big contribution to the setting up of both Haileybury Almaty and Astana. He was an extraordinary man, hugely talented and a great character. He was a huge support to Andrew Auster, (founding Head of Haileybury Almaty and Haileybury Astana) and me. We will miss him!”.
