Senate’s accidental brush with history

The Haileybury Senate is a group of current pupils which acts as a pupil voice piece.

They meet monthly to express their concerns regarding a range of issues from time of lights out and the quality of the lavatory paper issued.

Their opinion is also canvassed by The Haileybury Society with the view  to them Pitching ideas and suggestions for academic or culterual experiences requiring funding, not coverd by the school.

It is hoped that these experiences are not only of value in their own right but that the bidding process will prove useful in the future.

The December minutes cite pupil suggestion that their members would like an updated telescope to enhance and improve their experience of Astrology. I originally thought this was a typo but when glancing back through old editions of the Haileyburian, I noticed Madame Eva’s column dating back some forty years. It would appear not as much has changed, as I thought. It would be wonderful to find out if Mme Eva is available to Mentor in the twenty-first century, she seems to have excellent credentials.
