Anthony Anstead (B 95)

Anthony Anstead made a strong impression when he appeared in the BBC2 Building Cars Live programme on Tuesday October 20.

The 36-year-old Old Haileyburian conveyed his strong enthusiasm for cars as part of a three-person team. James May and Kate Humble are the other members. Their coverage included the manufacture of the Mini car at Cowley in Oxford. Anstead, known as "Ant Anstead" in the programme, dealt well with the challenge when he had to reverse a car up a transporter and also when the sound was cut off when he was interviewing an employee at Cowley.

The second programme is on tonight (Wednesday October 21). Anstead was picked for the BBC series after impressing in “For The Love of Cars”. This was shown earlier this year on Channel Four after its maiden series last year.
