75th Le Bas - Kipling Reunion
'The 75th Annual Le Bas - Kipling Reunion Dinner was held at the Royal Overseas League in London on Saturday 29th November 2014. Harry Baxendale (Kipling House Master) arranged this dinner which was attended by 110 diners. After a fine dinner, Colin Barber (K61) acting as dinner chairman for the evening, introduced the speakers. The Guest Speaker was Angus Head (Assistant Master co-curricular activities), whose speech recounted his time as House Master of Batten when Russell Matcham was House Master of Kipling. Then Marco Pittatore, the current Kipling Head of House made a speech giving the details of current life in Kipling. The final speech from Harry Baxendale entertained everyone with details of his first two years keeping the adventurous warm spirit of Kipling and the eccentricities of the boys in the house including those who were currently in the 6th form attending the dinner for the first time.
The oldest person attending the dinner was Clement Coldwells (K40). Invited guests included the Haileybury Society president, Jane Everard (L & Alb76) and her husband, Doug Everard (BF73).
